Upcycle Plastic Bottles into gorgeous Butterflies

- PET bottle (without convex patterns)
- Picture with butterfly
- Nail scissors
- Permanent marker medium thickness
- 3-5 shades of nail polish
- Nail polish with glitter
- Straziki
- Super glue

Take 1.5-2 liter plastic bottle (I use the middle part of the usual bottles of water). Cut off her smooth middle part of the neck and bottom.

We get a sort of transparent plastic sheet.

There is a picture of a butterfly, the shape of which you would like to translate.

For a start is better to take pictures with clear lines and no small parts, for the first time use patterns - they are easier to translate than the pictures, though, and can immediately start with complex images. They can be found in magazines, I printed out from the internet.

Puts a picture under our plastic web

and gently draw out the contours of the figure. To do this, I usually use a thin permanent marker black. Today decided to try out the new - he was stout and blue, but that's okay, because these contours disappear under layers of varnish.

The plastic should remain all your future butterfly with all the lines, streaks on the wings.

Now you can cut off the plastic part with a butterfly from the rest of the web, as it prevents and twists.

Then proceed to the coloring. Select varnishes (3-4-5 different), which harmoniously blends the color to the range in which you want to see your butterfly.

Gently colorable place between veins on the wings, not forgetting the symmetry.

Impose on 2-3 layers depending on the consistency of lacquer, giving each layer to dry thoroughly.

Have the following picture.

When all the butterfly dries, look through it to light - should they be in some parts counterstained?

If not, then again we take a permanent marker and clearly along the same lines (they are visible when placed under a sheet of white paper butterfly or a little lift plastic) to draw the line between particles of different colors.

If a thin marker does not cover the entire border line between the color, you can take a marker thicker.

The result is a stylized butterfly circled the contour and veins on the wings black.

Now you need to cut a butterfly on a path, capturing the entire thickness of the black line.

Look, not blurry to see where the marker when cutting. If there is such a place, they must be carefully toned black.

And finally, you can do embellishment. All black lines plot the silver or gold glitter (brush should be very thin - such brushes in nail paint on nails).

Then super glue glue 1 or 3 strazik butterflies along the calf (the first serving head of a butterfly, can be larger, but not necessarily). I've got generally only 2))) - little butterfly turned out.

That's all - our butterfly is ready.

Well, as you MK?
You would have seen me when I took pictures of the whole thing))) The camera put to macro mode and a timer was tightly clamped between the neck and chin until both hands were engaged in drawing, cutting and sticking)))))
I hope that as a result of my master class someone come in handy. I beg to give a reference to it if you do it on their own butterflies. And leave comments references on their babochkovye creation - interesting to see what happens with you. Inspiration to you!
If you have questions - answer.
Thank you for your attention.

UPD:
Master class became extremely popular abroad. Link to website home decor brings me hundreds of hits a day)) so bring out the article(translated my MC) here at home.

Turning an ordinary piece of litter and turning it into a work of art is more than just interesting, it's an inspiring craft. Repurposing plastic bottles is no longer a work of innovators, but a common practice in the DIY domain. Transforming a PET into a beautiful butterfly is absolutely stunning. The amazing fact is that with a bit of patience, you can achieve the same result. Materials needed:
a plastic bottle (no convex patterns);
a picture with a butterfly;
a plastic sheet;
a pair of nail scissors;
a permanent marker of average thickness;
3 to 5 shades of nail polish;
some nail glitter;
sequins;
super-glue;

Take the 1.5 or 2 liter plastic bottle and cut off the smooth middle part of the neck and bottom. We get a kind of a sheet of clear plastic.Find a picture butterfly shape which you would like to implement. For an easy process, take patterned pictures with clear lines and no small parts; print one from the Internet or buy one in the shop. Put the picture under a plastic web and gently draw out the contours of the figure. To do this, use a thin black permanent marker. The plastic should remain still at all times, until your butterfly has all the lines and streaks on the wings drawn. Now you can cut the plastic part with the rest of the butterfly paintings, as it hinders and twists. Then proceed to the coloring.

Select varnishes (3-4-5 different) that harmonize in color to the scheme in which you want to see your butterfly. Gently color the space between veins on the wings, not forgetting the symmetry. Impose on 2-3 layers depending on the consistency of lacquer, giving each coat time to dry thoroughly. When the painting has dried, take a look through the butterfly, holding it to light. If some details need more work, take again the permanent marker and draw on the same lines (they are visible when placed under a sheet of white paper butterfly or a little lift plastic). If a thin marker does not close all the borders between the color line, you can take a thicker marker. The result should be a stylized butterfly, like in the images.

The final part is cutting the butterfly contour, while still capturing the entire thickness of the black line. Be careful to not smear where the marker lines are, when doing the cutting. If there are such places, they need to be carefully toned black. And finally, you can decorate.Super-glue 1 or 3 sequins along calf butterfly in any way you like. Marvel at your stunning creation!
