HERB GARDEN IN A ROCK SPIRAL

Spiral Herb Garden
Herb spirals work great for people with limited space
Plant arid plants on top and moisture-loving plants at the bottom 

This is a Variation of the one I posted a week ago
you can use any Rocks/ Stones you want

just put the stones in a Circle Shape seen in the picture
then do a spiral with smaller stones

This spiral Garden is easy and perfect for Earth day

                   Try painting the stones  if you want for a colorful explosion in your garden
I Recommend  when you get your Stone/ Slate to clean it first 
Remove stains caused by mold and mildew.


Apply a solution of 2 tbsp. (14.8 ml) of bleach and 1 quart (0.95 liters) of warm water. Blot the affected area with a sponge or cloth saturated with the solution. Continue blotting until the stain disappears.
Remove stains with a commercial grade mold and mildew remover. Commercial mold and mildew cleaners are available at most home improvement centers.

 Clean the stone . Remove dust, dirt and oil from the stone prior to painting.
Remove loose dirt and debris with a coarse brush. Clean the walls by wiping them down with a damp cloth.
Use a commercial degreasing product to remove stubborn grease or oil stains. Commercial grade degreasing solutions are available at most home improvement stores. Follow the manufacturer's directions for application.

Paints  I Recommend  Krylon paints   and use a Sealant a spray sealant to keep your colors fresh for years to come    Acrylics and Lithichrome Stone Paint  but once again Seal it after it dries with at least 2 coatings of clear coating sealant for best results

how to make a wine cork Fairy/ birdhouse

Welcome  my Crafty Witches   This is more of a upcycle project  to Turn something Meh into something WOAH    

To make a wine cork birdhouse, you will need:
wooden birdhouse  you can find them pre made in craft stores

or a Cardboard Birdhouse 

or a Popsicle Stick Bird house 

sandpaper 
paint/brushes
*wine corks 

you can get Wine cork from Craft Stores, Also  what I do is I hit the Blue Recycling Bins on Trash Day and also try calling up Restaurants and Tell them your doing a recycling  Project and looking for  wine bottles and Wine Cork  they will give them to you   Less Trash for them 

hot glue gun
Clear protectant spray
Paint  { optional }
Blue Painters Tape   
Cork Discs *
You can make your own Cork Discs by Slicing Wine Cork

or you can buy Cork Discs  in Crafting and Hardware Stores  

Prestep 1: First decide how many Wine corks you need
for an Average size bird house you need around 20 wine corks




Step 1: Give the birdhouse a good sanding. Brush and wipe off with a damp cloth.

Step 2: If you plan to use more than one paint color, tape off the birdhouse where necessary. 

Step 3: Paint your birdhouse. Remove tape and allow paint to dry. Tape off previously painted areas and paint remaining exposed wood. 


Step 4: Hot glue wine corks to both sides of the roof and down the center. 

Cut Cork as shingles and glue to the walls of the Birdhouse

Step 5: If you plan to display your birdhouse outside, give it a coat of a clear protectant spray.

Recycled Thimble Gardens

Gardens do not need to be huge to be beautiful, These tiny Thimble Gardens are perfect for bringing nature into your home to make them you need a Thimble , Moss or Sphagnum moss and Succulents and small plants like Ferns and air plants and even Herbs into them and put them around your home or make them into a Mobile or necklace

What you need

Thimbles  

Plants
Tiny Pebbles
Soil
Moss

put small Pebbles soil and Plants of choice

How to Grow moss 

you can do this on Rocks and Stones and small statues anything you want to Create your own Magical Fairy Garden to make it feel Ancient and mysterious 

Things You'll Need

2 cups water
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups moss
Measuring cup
Blender
Wooden spoon
Paint brush, 4 inch
Sphagnum Moss or Moss found on Rocks / Logs etc 

Instructions
1. Buy Sphagnum moss at Gardening centers or Gather moss from your property by gently peeling the moss free of old logs or stones. Look for moss growing in similar amounts of shade as your location. Shake gently to remove excess soil and debris. Some soil is actually desired, so remove only that which comes free easily.

2.Crumble or tear the moss into 1 to 2 inch sections with your hands. Measure 2 cups of moss and set it aside.

3.Add 2 cups of water to your blender. If your tap water is treated with chlorine or other additives, allow it to sit overnight to remove the chemicals, or purchase distilled water.

4.Drop the moss into the water in the blender. Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon to distribute the moss.

5.Pour in 2 cups of buttermilk and stir again. Place the lid securely on the blender.

6.Blend on medium for approximately one minute or until the mixture is smooth and the moss is blended with the other ingredients.

7.Paint the mixture on your statue with a large paint brush. For best effects, leave some areas bare so that when the moss grows in will appear natural.

8.Keep the moss mixture moist by misting with plain water once or twice a day, or more often if it dries out. Within a few weeks, the moss will begin to grow and will become more pronounced as it matures.

you can also put the Moss on anything From Rocks , Wood ,Antlers, Water fountains,  logs,  mini gardens,  Jars, Mailboxes  anything you want your only limit is your imagination.
